Philosophy

Humans are inherently sexual beings. As we mature our needs, desires and functioning will change over time both as individuals and in the context of our relationships. My objective is to assist you to realize your potential within these two spheres. Treatment for the variety of problems with which any person or couple may present will be individualized. Relationship issues are frequently addressed in the therapy when there is a partner present. This is not to suggest that the partner is causing the presenting problem but that the partner can be helpful in remedying it. Also, relationships invariably suffer when sexual problems are present. I attempt to listen carefully, and be very goal directed, often using a behavioral and cognitive behavioral approach. I often assign homework. I attempt to blend an accepting atmosphere with a sense of purpose.I avoid preconceptions, fully recognizing that any treatment approach must take its cue from the patient or couple.
